YOU might count yourself lucky the next time you see a simple house spider in your bath.
Spare a thought for arachnophobes in Sri Lanka - they have to contend with THIS beast - a spider the size of a human face.
The new species of tarantula has just been discovered and it has a leg span of eight inches.
Science
bods had been looking for days before making the discovery of the
female spider - and a few of her young'uns as well - at an old hospital.
Ranil Nanayakkara said they were "quite rare" and only made their home in an old building because of deforestation.
No word on how dangerous the creature is, but tarantulas generally aren't aggressive unless provoked.
Still, we don't want one on our ceiling any time soon!
