BlackBerry
has partnered with a number of Nigerian application developers to
ensure a wide selection of top Nigerian brands and mobile apps are
available on the all new BlackBerry Z10 smartphone, powered by BlackBerry 10.
The BlackBerry World
storefront currently includes over 70,000 BlackBerry 10 apps. Facebook,
Twitter, LinkedIn and Foursquare apps for BlackBerry 10 are
preinstalled, and BlackBerry 10 customers have access to other leading
applications from across the globe – with many more to come. Local
applications available in BlackBerry® World™ include entertainment apps,
financial tools, job-search aids, and mobile money, amongst others.
The BlackBerry 10 platform is robust and
reliable, with an intuitive, gesture-based interface that is designed
to learn, support, and adapt to the way that the user works, thus
providing a truly unique user experience. The recently-launched
BlackBerry Z10 utilizes this platform to deliver a faster, smarter
experience that enables the user to keep moving in an ever-changing
environment. To support these adaptive features, BlackBerry has
partnered with Nigerian developers to build a range of applications
specifically for the Nigerian user.
“We are proud to see Nigeria’s
innovative developer community get behind the BlackBerry 10 platform,
with more than 250 local apps now available and many more coming,” said Waldi Wepener, Managing Director for BlackBerry. “Having
locally relevant and available content ensures delivery of a completely
unique user experience while also enriching the Nigerian developer
ecosystem on the BlackBerry 10 platform. We are committed to continuing
to work closely with the Nigerian developer community to further enhance
the local content available across our products.”
