Head coach of the ‘Walyas Antelopes’ of Ethiopia, Sewnet Bishaw, has
disclosed they are lining up an international friendly match against
Burkina Faso to help strengthen the side ahead of their upcoming 2014
FIFA World Cup playoff second-leg against Nigeria.
The Ethiopian Football Federation (EFF) also confirmed the friendly which according to the coach is scheduled for November 4-5.“We want to use this game to prepare well for the 2014 World Cup qualifier return leg against Nigeria,” explained Bishaw.
Nigeria won the first leg of the World Cup playoff 2-1 in Addis Ababa with the return leg billed for Calabar on November 16. Continue...
“We are already training hard preparing for the game,” added Bishaw. “We also have the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup after the World Cup qualifier.”
Burkina Faso edged past Algeria 3-2 in Ouagadougou in their separate 2014 FIFA World Cup playoff and will also hope to use the friendly to tune up ahead of the return leg in Rades.
