US Based Nigerian Rapper Wale Explains Why He's Never Been To Nigeria Until Now

During a radio chat with Toolz on Beatfm yesterday, Wale said the reason he's never been to Nigeria until now was because his parents, who are both from Ondo state, were so poor they couldn't afford a bring him home.

"I grew up poor. We lived in DC, in the projects. Getting a ticket to Nigeria on $20, 000 income yearly, to my family that wasn't really... you know...like I was a 15 year old with a decent job, I'm not going to save up to go to Nigeria. That wasn't what I was thinking when I was that age. And then I was in college and the money tight right then. And then I get this record deal when I dropped out of school, you're running around so much you don't even have time to see your own parents"

How has the journey been this last twelve years?

It’s not been very easy but we made up our mind to go all the way as long as God stands by us . The very funny thing is that, we see very far.

Have you guys ever had  issues or moments of friction,  where you quarrel?

Yes, we do have those times. But the good thing is that we are friends, first of all, and we have realized we all need each other in our lives. And no matter the differences, we just have to reconcile. There is nothing that is irreconcilable.  And we try to hear ourselves out and then we put ourselves in each others’ shoes.

How did you guys compose that song ‘Igwe’?

Gov. Adams Oshiomhole of Edo on Friday apologised for the comments he made to a widow in Benin during an inspection tour on Mission Road, in the state capital, a fortnight ago.
Oshiomhole said that he now regretted the comments which had become the subject of discourse in the social media.
The Governor, however, noted that he made the comments in anger.
Oshiomhole’s apology was made when the leadership of the Federation of Muslim Women’s Association of Nigeria (FOMWAN), paid him a courtesy visit in Benin.
He noted that though the challenge of modern times had bestowed on the shoulders of some women and single mothers the status of bread winners of their homes, such should not be used as an excuse to flout the laws.

Three Nigerians Arrested By Spain Police For Forcing Mothers Into Prostitution

Spanish police said Thursday they have arrested three Nigerians who forced African women into prostitution in Europe, including holding two women’s children captive for at least four months.
Five women in different Spanish cities were freed from the clutches of the gang after a long operation that began at the beginning of the year, on the basis of information from a young African prostitute, a police statement said.
In August, police rescued two little children, one of them aged three, from an address in Valmojado, some 50 kilometres (30 miles) from Madrid. They were found in poor health and malnourished.
“They were kept locked in separate rooms… at times gagged and tied to the bed” by captors who fed them tranquilisers to keep them docile, the statement said.
“The children were to guarantee that the women paid off their ‘debts’ by going into prostitution and to stop them running away.”

SHOCKING PHOTO: The Flying ‘Wizard’ Who Crash-Landed At Kasoa

A man believed to be in his 70s, who claimed to.be a wizard, was on Wednesday found on the banks of the Okrudu River at Kaimebre, a settlement near the Kasoa New Market in the Central Region Ghana.
The man, who gave his name as Charles Atta, looked frail, pale and bore protruding breasts like that of a teenage girl.
His body was smeared with mud from the bank of the river where he was found by two brothers, Liberty Obeng and Innocent Obeng, who claimed they found the strange man crying for help.
The two brothers told Daily Guide reporters that the self-acclaimed wizard confessed to them that he was in the company of colleagues, including a medical doctor and were flying to Cape Coast for a meeting when he was forced down.
According to him, they were flying over a church where an all-night vigil was being held when he crash- landed at Servant Kings International School.

The sleepy town of Ogotun-Ekiti in Ekiti SouthWest Local Government Area of Ekiti State was on Tuesday thrown into confusion when information filtered that a goat had delivered a human-like baby goat.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the incident, which occurred in Lori Oke settlement, a village that is about 10 kilometres from Ogotun Town, drew the attention of hundreds of residents and travellers.
The spokesperson of the community, Sunday Ogunmeji, who spoke with a correspondent on behalf of the Baale (community head), Ganiyu Adetoun, said a pastor, Daniel Odedele, helped to deliver the goat of the baby.
“After watching the goat labour for several hours, the pastor took pity on it and courageously pulled the baby out, only for it to turn out to be human-like.

Abiodun Ogunjobi, otherwise known as, the dreaded one-eyed robbery czar who terrorized Lagos and other South-West states, killing no less than 50 policemen while raiding several banks, businesses and homes, for over 14 years reveals details of his life.

He disclosed that he almost quit robbery in 2011,speaking at the state Police Command headquarters, Ikeja, where he is currently being detained following his arrest by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, led by SP Abba Kyari, on August 1.

Late MKO Abiola's Wife Dr Doyin Abiola Reportedly Arrested For Fraud

According to a report by Sahara Reporters, one of late MKO Abiola's wife, and former MD of the defunct Concord Newspapers, Dr. Doyin Abiola has been arraigned before the Federal High Court, Lagos, for fraud.

A statement signed by Police Public Relations Officer DSP Ngozi Isintume-Agu said that the Financial Malpractices Investigation Unit (FMIU) of Special Fraud Unit (SFU) said that between 2006 and 2008, as a Director of the Integrated Microfinance Bank, Dr. Abiola granted to herself without collateral and approval from the Management, the sum of N26,611,246.48.

Dr. Abiola, of 42/46 Moshood Abiola Crescent, Ikeja, Lagos, and wife of the late Chief Moshood Abiola, is one of four Managing Directors or Directors of Integrated Microfinance Bank (IMFB) located at 6A Adeniyi Jones Avenue, Ikeja, who were arrested and charged by the SFU.

Adaobi Obih's Suspected Killer Ryan Klug Caught In Texas

The prime suspect in the murder of 26 year old Nigerian, Adaobi. M. Obih, has been apprehended in Texas. Ryan Allen Klug was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals near Galveston, Texas on Saturday Nov. 23rd, four days after his roommate Adaobi was found dead in the flat they shared in Indiana.

A full time test engineer at Cummins Inc., Adaobi only began to pursue her PHD before she was murdered. Family sources said she leased the apartment on her own and Klug was her tenant who paid rent to her. They also said Ada interviewed a large number of people before deciding to lease a room to Klug. Only for her to end up killing her.

Ada's employees were alerted after she missed two days of work. They went to her flat to see what was going on with her only to find her lifeless body in her apartment. Ada had been stabbed multiple times and her throat cut.

Unknown Gunmen Attack Aviation Minister Stella Oduah's Car - Police

The FCT Police Command on Monday in Abuja confirmed that gunmen fired shots at the car of the Minister of Aviation, Ms Stella Oduah in Abuja. The spokesperson of the command, Altine Daniel, told the News Agency of Nigeria that the incident occurred at about 10 p.m. on Friday.

She added that the minister was not in the car when the incident took place.

Ms. Daniel, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, however, said that the incident was reported to the police on Monday at about 5:30 p.m. According to her, some metal objects were found in the vehicle which do not look like the conventional bullet. “The objects will be subjected to ballistic test,” she said. ASUU Agrees To Suspend Strike After Secret Meeting, Gives GEJ 3 Conditions

University lecturers in Nigeria have agreed to end the five-month old strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, if the federal government agrees to three conditions, according to the Nigerian Eye.

Gold Bars Worth N174m Found In Plane Toilet

Cleaners found a stash of 24 gold bars worth more than $US1.1 million hidden in an airplane lavatory after a flight from Bangkok landed in eastern India, officials said.

The plane, belonging to private carrier Jet Airways, was being cleaned at Kolkata airport after a trip from the eastern city of Patna. Indian media reported the plane had been travelling from Bangkok.
“The cleaning staff of the airport were going though their routine duties and found two bags in the toilets of the plane,” said director of the airport B.P. Mishra.
The 24 one-kilogram gold bars “have not been claimed by anyone. No arrest has been made,” senior customs official R.S. Meena said. Continue...
