PHOTO: Commercial Driver And Conductor Strip Naked To Avoid Arrest In Lagos

A commercial bus driver and his conductor this morning stripped naked at the Allen Avenue/Obafemi Awolowo Way roundabout in Ikeja to prevent some policemen (seen in the pic) from towing their vehicle and arresting them for alleged traffic violation. Their stunt caused heavy traffic around the area this morning and I heard it actually worked as the policemen left the scene quickly.

Iyanya Signs $350k Endorsement Deal With Zinox Computers

The Kukere crooner yesterday signed a $350k one year endorsement deal with Zinox Computers. Zinox computers, which is Nigeria’s first certified branded computers, will upload all Iyanya's songs and videos to all their computers. Iyanya will also do a song for them and appear on Zinox billboards and TV commercials.

A 17-year-old female student of Takoradi Senior High School (name withheld) revealed in an interview that her biological father broke her virginity and has been having s*xual intercourse with her for the past nine months, at his Adiembra residence near Sekond
According to the girl, her father who was sojourning in Spain returned to Ghana December last year and that was when it all started. “At the age of 16, I had not slept with any boy or man, but my father returned from Spain last December and started having s*x with me,” she said.
The girl said her parents were divorced and her father was the one taking care of her so he threatened to stop supporting her if she told anybody. “If my father doesn’t pay my fees no one will do it. My mother does not have the means to take care of me in school so I was afraid to inform anybody about my ordeal; not even my mother,” the victim claimed.
She also revealed that her father stopped her from going to church in fear that she might inform some of the church leaders of what he had been doing to her.

Kyle Kandilian, a 20-year-old student from Dearborn, Michigan, has a very unusual hobby – he enjoys raising cockroaches as pets. His bedroom walls are decked with boxes and crates which hold around 200,000 roaches he breeds for fun and profit.
Kyle’s passion is probably going to bug a lot of people, seeing as most people tend to freak out if they so much as hear the word “cockroach”. But Kyle is not most people. Ever since he got to see and hold some Madagascar hissing roaches during a tech day exhibit at the University of Detroit Mercy, he has been fascinated with them. He came home that day and asked his mother if he could have one as a pet, but his mother looked him in the eye and said ”Kyle? You are never bringing cockroaches into this house.” Today his bedroom is home to around 200,000 cockroaches from 130 varieties, and his parents are very supportive of his passion. Maybe “supportive” is pushing it a little, but Kyle agrees they are “very tolerant of his enthusiasm”. He is aware that cockroaches are usually a taboo topic, but says he has never tried to hide his hobby, instead talking openly and enthusiastically about bug passion in an attempt to change people’s perception of them. Mother Of Boy Who Hid In Arik Plane Tyre speaks (Photo)

Mrs Evelyn Oikhena, the mother of the 15-year-old Daniel Oikhena, who emerged from the wheel compartment of an Arik Air flight from Benin Airport to Lagos, last Saturday, said she was shocked that her son could embark on such a life-threatening journey to where he had never been before.

Speaking in Benin City, yesterday, Mrs Oikhena said her son was at home with his elder sister, Tonia, his two younger brothers and his grand mother while the mother was away to visit her elder sister who had put to bed.

She said:

Two Kenyan men have signed an agreement to "marry" the same woman.The woman had been having affairs with both men for more than four years and apparently refused to choose between them.

The men who love the woman too much to let her go have agreed to her decision to set a out a rosta for Sylvester Mwendwa(Above) and Elijah Kimani to stay in her house and states they will both help raise any children she bears.

People have reacted with shock to the "marriage", arguing that it is not acceptable in terms of their culture, religion or the law, he says.

2 British Nigerian Women Assaulted And Detained In China For 2 Months

Two British Nigerian woman have been detained in China for more than two months after their dream holiday turned to nightmare.
Modupe Idowu, 59, and her friend Esther Jubril Badmos, 48, were arrested after becoming embroiled in a dispute at a shoe shop in the city of Guangzhou.
They were locked up in 'hell-like' conditions at a detention centre for 38 days and although they have now been released, the two women remain trapped in the country as their visas have expired and authorities refuse to issue them new ones.
Mrs Idowu's desperate family said the two women's ordeal began Ms Badmos asked the shop to amend an order she had lodged earlier in the trip.

This 14-year-old boy has been left with the body of a 110-year-old in India because he has a rare disease which makes him age eight times faster than normal.
Ali Hussain has seen five of his siblings- two of his brothers and three of his sisters, die from the same condition called Progeria which is known to affect just 80 people worldwide.

Sufferers are not expected to live much beyond the age of 14.
Life was made unbearable for him and his late siblings because of their disease, they were mocked in school and called names like ‘big-eyed boy’ and ‘Patlu’ meaning skinny.
Eventually they all stopped going to school.
But despite the grim prognosis Ali has refused to give up hope. Ali says:

Daniel Ihekina, the young boy who was arrested at the arrival terminal of Lagos’ Muritala Muhammed International Airport on Saturday thought he was going to the United States Of America.

According to investigators, the youngster made the desperate move in an effort to travel abroad.

While confessing to FAAN officials after his arrest, Daniel claims maltreatment he received from his parents forced him to attempt to leave them for good.

Daniel Ihekina said he was disappointed when he discovered he was still in Nigeria.

The alleged hero of many Nigerians has been handed over to SSS Officials for further investigation as his parents head to Lagos to pick him up.

Ghanian rep. at just concluded Big Brother African Season 8 The chase, Elikem, has bagged the sum of $10,000 for being the ‘Most Romantic Housemate’ in Big Brother Season 8 – The Chase. The vote was concluded by viewers across the African continent.

Elikem have the privileged to spend five-night, all expenses paid, stay in a luxury room at the Sarova White Sands Hotel in Mombasa, Kenya.

How did it happen?
I don’t know what to say, but first of all, I want to give thanks to God. I was very sick. Before I went to the hospital, I attended a couple of shows. I wondered how I was able to perform at the shows because I was seriously ill.

My partner Obumneme Ali a.k.a Smash and I, had series of shows and in a situation where payment has been made, I had no option than to grace the stage. We decided to round off our shows late last year in order to enable me take care of my health in 2013. But unfortunately, up till January this year, we were still going for concerts. We even had to travel to Australia to stage a concert.

A teenager named Daniel Ikehina mysteriously beat airline and airport security at the Benin airport yesterday Saturday August 24th and sneaked into the tyre compartment of a Lagos-bound Arik flight. The boy flew safely with the aircraft which left Benin around 9am yesterday and landed at Murtala Muhammed airport, hidden throughout in the undercarriage. He was immediately arrested by airport security after passengers saw him emerging from the aircraft tyre hole.

IT was not so long ago that secondary school children were allowed to smoke in many of the more "advanced" schools around the country. Staff rooms were also often full of teachers puffing on pipes and cigarettes as pupils regularly entered and left.

Today, the idea of a 17-year-old taking a puff between classes seems as strange as quill pens or the regular floggings that were a feature of the Irish educational system for far too long. The world changes, and smokers have had to endure more change than most as their habit has moved from socially acceptable to pariah status.

The Government's latest plans to outlaw smoking anywhere in secondary school grounds and near creche facilities is another step in a long-term strategy to "de-normalise" smoking and ensure that fewer than one person in 20 smokes by 2025.

Huang Rongming, from Henan province in China, underwent life-changing surgery to correct heart a defect and move the organ away from his abdomen and into his ribcage.
He had lived with the rare condition for 24 years until a doctor told him his condition was rapidly deteriorating and that he required urgent surgery.

The Lagos State Government has rescued 25 children from an alleged child trafficker in the Egbeda area of the state, according to a story by Punch

The suspected trafficker, Mrs. Rosemary Nwachukwu (pictured right), was also arrested and has been handed over to the Alausa Police Division, while the children are currently in government’s custody.

The government accused Nwachukwu of operating an illegal orphanage named, Saint Stephen Charity Foundation, on Abiodun Adebanbo Street, Egbeda.

It was gathered that officials from the Office of Youth and Social Department, led by the Director, Child Development, Mrs. Alaba Fadairo, in conjunction with personnel from the Office of Public Defender and policemen, stormed the orphanage on Saturday.

The government said findings showed that the suspect was using the orphanage as a front for another illegal business.

Bola Tinubu Recuperates After Knee Surgery In The US

Former Lagos State Governor and leading founder of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has been absent from public engagements in the past few weeks. He sent out a statement in early August explaining that he would be traveling out of the country for knee surgery.

"Based on a previous sports injury on one of his knees and recent further aggravation on the knee from rigorous political and family related activities, he has been advised by his doctors, despite his persistent reluctance, that orthopedic surgery is necessary at this time.

The week of the 5th of August has been slated for the surgery. Governor Tinubu is expected to resume his normal political activities and public engagements following clearance from his doctors." The statement read

Tinubu has since had the surgery in a hospital in the US and is said to be recuperating.

The photos showing the aftermath of the deadly chemical weapons unleashed on Damascus suburb, Ain Tarma, where 1,300 innocent Syrians were gassed in their beds

The attack yesterday have left the streets deserted and makeshift morgues piled high with bodies of innocent women, men and children while those who survived the attack are fighting for their lives in makeshift hospitals. The attackers used rockets to release fatal fumes over the suburb in the early hours of yesterday morning as people slept in their homes.

The Syrian president has denied being behind the attack as protests against it erupted in other parts of the world. What I don't understand is why the rest of the world is folding its hands while thousands of innocent people are being slaughtered in Syria. See more photos after the cut...

The female police Officer that was caught on camera demanding for N100 bribe from a commercial bus driver (see video here)has been arrested, this is according to the Lagos State police command.

“We have arrested her and she is presently in custody. She will be made to undergo an orderly room trial and the outcome will be made public,’’ The Public Relations Officer of the State Police Command, Ngozi Braide, said.

The command didn't provide the police woman's name or the station she was attached.

The post to the up and coming actress on the popular social media platform, twitter, got a harsh response from her. Annie replied, “you are a fool, get off my page, sick man.”

Prison Break Actor Wentworth Miller Reveals He's Gay

Wentworth Miller, who played the lead character Michael Scofield in Prison Break came out as a gay man yesterday August 21 via an open letter to the Saint Petersburg Film Festival, rejecting an invitation to attend a premiere there because of Russia's recently-passed anti-gay laws.

The 41-year-old actor wrote:

Thank you for your kind invitation. As someone who has enjoyed visiting Russia in the past and can also claim a degree of Russian ancestry, it would make me happy to say yes. However, as a gay man, I must decline.

I am deeply troubled by the current attitude toward and treatment of gay men and women by the Russian government. The situation is in no way acceptable, and I cannot in good conscience participate in a celebratory occasion hosted by a country where people like myself are being systematically denied their basic right to live and love openly.

Perhaps, when and if circumstances improve, I'll be free to make a different choice.
